Wow!
Just back from opening night of Seussical the Musical — we loved it! (Of course, I love every QHS musical.) My impressions and ordering information below...
This is a completely new musical for the high school. Most of their productions are the classic musicals, but this one is only a few years old -- It's never been perfomed at QHS.
And That’s a Winner!
Chet goes to the World Series and takes pictures of everything but the game…
Last Monday, my youngest brother Lance, who lives near St. Louis, called and said he had two tickets to the World Series on Wednesday night. Of course, if you followed the Series, you know that we sat and watched the rain for two hours, before the game was finally called. It was re-scheduled for Friday… and we were there!
QUINCY— Coonrod Photography of Quincy will sponsor its annual "Halloween Happening" on Tuesday, October 31 between the hours of 2:00pm and 6:00pm. Parents are invited to bring children, in costume, to the Coonrod Photography Studio at 20th and Jefferson to have a special picture made in a festive Halloween setting, absolutely FREE. Parents are asked to bring a new toy or a new article of children's clothing to donate in exchange for the free photograph.
Recently, the Quincy Herald-Whig published a story about image copyrights and featured our studio's new WebAlbum service. If you are a Whig subscriber, you can access it on their archives, but since many of our clients live outside Quincy, we asked for, and received, permission from the Herald-Whig to reprint the story here. (After all, the story about copyright is a copyrighted story!)
And the winner is...
Adam Peter is the Idol winner for August. He and other Seniors who had Portrait Sessions in August participated in voting from September 1st through the 30th. Adam wins the monthly prize of $50 and the Title of Senior Idol for September!

It must be the start of a new school year, because we just finished the annual Marching Blue Devils group picture at Flynn Stadium. Every year since just before the dawn of the Roman Empire, we have photographed the QHS Marching Band in uniform on or about the first day of school. This year the first day was rained out, but we made it up on Tuesday, August 29th.
Senior Idol 2007 is Here!
The first round of the Senior Idol Contestants are now displayed in the Voting Gallery, waiting for your vote.
This round of voting will be open throughout the month of August. Vote for your favorite Senior Portrait, and tell your friends and family to vote too! (You may only vote once.) At the end of August, the winning Senior will win $50 Cash, and a new round will begin for the month of September!
Introducing WebAlbum
We were notified recently that some profiles on MySpace and other “social networking” websites have Coonrod Photography Senior Portraits on them.
We're flattered that people are proud of their portraits, but it causes a problem for us... You see, some of the images look pretty bad. It may be due to poor quality scanning, or attempts to manipulate the image, or in some cases, it looks like someone took a cell phone picture of the original portrait and posted it. We don't want people to see a fuzzy, grainy, or otherwise bad portrait with our logo at the bottom, and think it’s a true example of our work. (It makes us look bad!)
Happy 4th of July!
Coonrod Photography will be closed on the 4th to celebrate the birth of our nation. Look for Chet and family on the Quincy Riverfront watching the Quincy Park Band perform and then staying for fireworks over the river.
July is heating up with more Senior Portraits. We still have some 75% off Senior Sessions available, but you need to call soon to make your appointment.
We went to the opening night performance of the QHS Spring Musical, "Les Miserables". What can I say -- fantastic! (as always).
QHS Musicals are one of the things we look forward to each fall, and a second one for the spring was a bonus.
As is our custom, we took cast pictures at dress rehersal, and donated them for display in the theater lobby. If you missed them, or just want another look, here they are. As always, you may purchase 8x10's for yourself @ $15 each. You may order by phone, or download and print out the form to order by mail. Make a note of the number that appears below each image when ordering.
After many late nights of work, we're proud to introduce our new website!
Here's a taste of what's new:
The first days of June mean school is out, and as far as we're concerned, the day your Junior year ends is the day you can call yourself a Senior!
The first days of June at Coonrod Photography mean it's time to send out the 2007 Edition of SR TODAY, the newspaper for High School Seniors.
